Volunteer Experience

Mayo Clinic Summer Teen Volunteer | June-August 2016-2018 | > 100 Hours

  • Each year, I volunteer in a different Mayo Clinic Department to gain medical field exposure. 

    • Patient Transport: Transporting patients from their hospital room to their vehicle or another location on campus, delivering mail and flowers to hospital rooms, and restocking magazines and health management stations around campus.

    • Information Technology: Installing computer hardware, developing software and hardware maintenance around the campus and instructing doctors and medical staff on how to operate new software and hardware

    • Perianesthesia: Volunteering in surgical services and patient transport pre and post surgery, tending to the needs of the patient, and preparing equipment to be used in surgery and post operation

Museum of Contemporary Art| Jacksonville, Fl | 2015-2018

  • Independently organized art projects and directed and oversaw children of all ages.

  • Led art activities for children and families with an emphasis on education and fun.

  • Created posters and promotional materials for upcoming events and assisted in marketing.

  • Assisted students with learning disabilities and impediments in auditory and fine motor skills.

BAPS Charities Volunteer | Jacksonville, Fl | 2014-2018

  • BAPS Charities engages in numerous charitable activities across the globe and in my own community. The following are the events I have led and participated in:

    • Walkathon: Organizing and setting up an annual charity walk at the University of North Florida. The walk raises money for both national and local charitable organizations such as The Nature Conservancy and PACE Center for Girls.

    • Health Fair: Networking with doctors and directing the flow of patients across the facility. Educating the youth on various health issues. Created and presented material to advocate for vegetarianism, and teaching internet safety in front of children and families attending the event.

    • Youth Leader: Organizing and planning youth classes and mentoring younger children in life skills and values. Participated in the organization of National Conventions consisting of over 3000 delegates from across North America.

 

Artism For Autism President | Jacksonville, Fl | 2014-2017

  • Founder of a charitable organization which conducted arts and crafts activities for children and all proceeds were donated to Autism Speaks

  • Researched and implemented marketing and advertising strategies to drive donations

  • Responsible for customer solicitation, student engagement and resource management

  • Developed and published written and visual content for the website

  • Designed, printed and distributed flyers to publicize events

Kumon Math and Reading Learning Center | Tutor | 2017

  • Assisted with math and reading for children from grades 3 to 12.
